What is a Remote Online Notary (RON)?
Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows signers to appear before a commissioned Texas Online Notary Public via secure audio-video technology. Instead of meeting in person, you sign your documents digitally through an approved platform that verifies your identity and records the session for security and legal compliance.
Is Remote Online Notarization legal in Texas?
Yes. Texas authorized Remote Online Notarization in 2018. As a commissioned Texas Online Notary Public, I am legally authorized to perform notarizations for signers located anywhere in the world, provided the notary is physically located within the state of Texas during the session.

How is my identity verified for a RON session?
Texas law requires a multi-step identity proofing process. This includes 'Knowledge-Based Authentication' (answering questions from your credit history) and 'Credential Analysis' (scanning a valid government-issued photo ID). This secure process ensures the integrity of the notarization and protects all parties involve.
All sessions are performed via secure, MISMO-compliant platforms to ensure the highest level of encryption and record integrity for every notarization.
What documents do I need for a RON appointment?
You will need the documents to be notarized in digital format (usually PDF), a valid U.S. government-issued photo ID, and a smartphone or computer with a camera, microphone, and reliable high-speed internet. Some restrictions may apply to certain document types; we review every request for eligibility.
How will I receive my signed and notarized documents?
Immediately following the successful completion of your secure RON session, you will be able to download your fully executed and digitally notarized documents directly from the platform. These documents contain a secure digital certificate that verifies the notary's signature and seal.
